Clinical Specialist, Life Sciences and Biotechnology

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (e.g., MD, DO, MBBS, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of clinical experience (inclusive of training) after the completion of medical degree.
  • Experience with life science or biomedical product or platform development.
  • Experience in the provision of patient care.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience at a pharmaceutical, medical device, biomedical, or life science technology company.
  • Experience with advanced training in a medical speciality (e.g., oncology, rheumatology, immunology, medical genetics).
  • Experience in life science or biotechnology product development from concept through launch and scaled implementation.
  • Experience working in complex, dynamic, ambiguous environments with cross-functional product development teams.
  • Experience in drug design and development, biomedical product design and evaluation, regulatory approval processes, or pharmacovigilance.
  • Experience working with partners, including C-suite leaders and policy makers, or speaking to external audiences.

About the job

As a Clinical Specialist, you will be an effective and influential contributor to our work developing intelligent and intuitive tools and platform capabilities focused on the life science and biotechnology sector. You will utilize not only your clinical expertise and knowledge of the product development life cycle but also your excellent listening, communication, and leadership skills to appropriately shape the content, design, evaluation and scaled implementation of products and platform capabilities.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with non-clinical teams including research and development, engineering, product management, and regulatory affairs. You will have a demonstrable background working as a healthcare professional in your field with recognized expertise in a focused area of clinical care.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use clinical and domain expertise to provide guidance, insights and direction on enterprise-facing features for Google’s health-focused products and platforms, working in a deeply embedded model with research, product and partnerships teams.
  • Understand the life science and biotechnology developmental life cycles and ecosystems globally, and translate this understanding into platform-based tools for enterprise partners via Google Cloud.
  • Identify relevant guidelines, directives, policies, and evidence-based practices related to the development, evaluation and regulation of medications and devices, and use these to influence product development.
  • Respond to the needs of the business and projects prioritizing effort effectively. This may require leading on certain projects and contributing to others.
