Who has the best color Silver? Pics of Silver C-10's please...

I'm in the middle of building my 68' swb fleetside and I'm getting close to picking a color. I have been looking at blues, the orange that I have on my 72 and the Machine Silver. But, I think Mercedes and Porsche may have the best color silver out there. Post your pics and opinions please. Of course I'm kinda leaning toward the color of my Z06 Machine Silver also!

Im in the process of spraying mine right now. Im useing Summit Racings 2 stage Brilliant Metillac Silver. It is awsome!!! I have only painted my hood, cowl, hood latch, hood and door hinges, front inner fender wells, and the drivers side inner door and some other small parts. I cant say enough how much I love this paint. Both the paint and clear coat for the money is the best I have ever used.

Just a small note- the cheap Silver "Paint Shop" premixed paint you can get at some Auto Zones, and most Orlieys is a real close match to the Summit paint. Its a cheaper paint that can be used in less noticable areas to save some more expensive paint. Just dont use the "Paint Shop" clear it sucks...

I used the "Paint Shop" paint for my cab floor, and behind the seats,(which will be covered with carpet any way) and under the bed and then used the Summit clear on it. It saving me my good paint for more base coats......

Tony do you have pics yet? I'd like to see that silver. I was looking at ppg and diamont paint products. I'am open for suggestions though! By the way are you spraying your truck like your avatar?

Yes painting the truck just like my avatar. I dont have any pics yet as I have been doing mostly small parts. I painted my hood and let it sit for 4 days in the sun and then color sanded it and buffed it (oh it looks good) but I wrapped up in blankets and taped it all up as not to get any scratches on it before I could take any pics. I will try to take pics of something to show you.

The real problem is it really pops in the sunlight to your eyes, but when you try to take a pic of the paint it it reflects so much light in the sun the camera dont really pick up the depth and color real good. I will try to get some pics in the evening sun, what we photographers call "majic hour" and see how they come out and post some for you...

You can order a paint chip sample from summit of their 2 stage paints for like $6.00.

I tried to take some images and no matter if I put in the sunlight or the shade it just wont bring out the real color and detail of the paint... btw- the part I photographed has not been color sanded yet. It has only been sprayed and cleared.

That does look like it pops! But you are right you can't really see the depth...

Your machine matallic silver is the best color. This is a pic of mine, and the shop did a terrible job, but this is an excellent color.

Yes that's what the color is on my Z06 in the first pic! My last Z06 was quick silver but I think I like the machine better! You have any more pics from angles with the sun hitting it?
