Welcome to the board! Hope this helps. They're the only pics I had that included the roof.

Thanks for the pics but that's not really what I was looking for I wanted to see a 88 98 with a white roof and another body color for a vintage look

theres one that was around. it was a crew cab I believe. but if you looking for a specific color find an image and drop it in the photoshop area on this site. those guys have some skill they could probably get you what you need.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
Your question is crystal clear to me. The traditional two-tone on trucks, from way before Fleetsides, was a white top. Nothing says traditional upgrade like a white top. Only the proud farmer bothered with a Deluxe cab. I like seeing throw-backs like this on newfangled trucks. The factory never did this paint scheme in this body style, yet when you see one done it sure looks like it could be. One of those second take things that isn't a jump out and grab ya type. We have a road construction company around here with red/whire top color scheme. This guy is proud of his fleet and everything gets painted red with white...road rollers,graders...everything,and in Imron, too. His crew trucks are all GM and I'll try to snag a shot soon for you. My '92 has the traditional Woodland Green, which was a fleet-only color through these years. But,It's the same dark green that's been used on GM trucks since day 1.Being that it's a K3500 it has gloss black fender flares, which give it a classic truck look, since many old trucks were dark green w/black fenders. My truck has no white,so a white top wouldn't fit the scheme or I'd do it. I considered black but like it as it is being a uniquely ordered factory truck that already had a traditional flare.
Sorry I don't have any pictures to share of white tops.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
I think the reason you don't see it much is because it would be an odd-looking way to paint a truck like that, given where the body line breaks are. I think any way you do it, it would end up looking like a truck that had been wrecked and had body panels replaced with different ones.
If you do just the roof, the doors are going to look out of place, and if you do the roof and tops of the doors, the A-pillar line extends below the hood line in front, and below the bed rails in the rear. On the older trucks it didn't so it looked ok. Probably why they stopped doing it.

Kind of tough to do with a picture of an all-white truck, but this will give you an idea:

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
You spray-bombed my truck
I have never thought of the white roof as a retro touch on one of these trucks, but I think it could be cool. But like 7t2 said, it would be tougher because of the body lines. However, I think if you left the A-pillars the same color as the lower body, it would look a little better. Not like this: But like this: The doors could stay all one color, too. The square bodies had that little emblem on the B-pillar that divided the roof from the rest of the body; I don't know how you'd handle that on an 88-98.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
If you're going to include the window frames of the doors in the white roof, I think 7T2 made it work right. I think the upper bodyline is a good stopping point for the rear and since that point is lower than the front of the bed, it wouldn't look odd from behind going across the back of the cab with no natural break, though it might be a different story on sportsides since you can see more of the back of the cab. I do think leaving the door frames in the main color of the truck would look best, though.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
I've seen them done and it looks fine. You don't follow the body lines, you follow the body. On the front mask either at the top or bottom corner of the windshield and at the back mask at the bottom of the side window. It's below the top of the bed by a bit but looks fine. I think you don't see it because the trend with these trucks has not exactly been about looking traditional.
Heck,GM didn't follow the body line with their side moulding by putting it down below it.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
So, are you looking for just white roofed, or roof and window frames?

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
There's a guy near me that has/had a C1500 in burgundy with a white top that I always thought looked cool. He doesn't drive it much anymore but if I see it I'll snap a pic. As I recall, it was just the roof, not the top of the door. To echo special k, the deluxe roof was reserved for the proud farmer back in the day. we had 5 different square bodies with the deluxe white cab.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
I think the white roof two tone was popular years ago due to the rarity of a/c in trucks. A white roof was cooler. Now with A/C pretty much standard it isn't needed. I like the white roof and am thinking of doing a white roof powder blue two tone when I update my 98. I wouldn't do the pillars though I am thinking of breaking it off at the seam above the rear glass and top of windshield pillar.

Re: some pics of white roofed 88-98 please
Here are some pics I pulled off of here somewhere. I think it's a member's truck? Notice the white roof, it's just to the tops of the doors and no further. I kinda dig it!
