65 C10 brown paint color?

Does anyone know what paint color this is (other than the obvious "brown")?
Also wondering if this truck belongs to someone here.

Looks closer to copper than brown. Nice!

Right, I've seen it called copper, light brown, root beer, and others, but haven't been able to find an actual paint code that I'd be able to take to a painter.

Re: 65 C10 brown paint color?

Thanks, I think the bright metallic copper is probably close. I was hoping to find someone who had used a similar color or knew the PPG number.

I worked at a Chevy Dealership in 1964-65 and I do not believe it is a factory color.

Wow! Such a sweet color! Should make this a brown/copper truck pic post!

Right, I'm not going for stock but rather looking for a way to positively ID this color that I really like. When I take my truck to a painter I want to avoid ending up with something different (been there done that). I probably need to get into a paint supplier and look through swatches. I was hoping someone would recognize the color from other models or uses.

I found another truck pic of a 63 on an auction site. They called this color copper but when I search for copper paint it looks vastly different. I think this is different than the first pic which to me is closer to a brown/beige.

Re: 65 C10 brown paint color?

Thanks, I'll be searching down other books for different years since none of those swatches match. Appreciate all the feedback. The sample model (first post) was a 1965 but I'm sure that color had to have come from elsewhere. I've seen early 70's trucks with 2-tone paint and a similar color but unsure if those are accurate either.

Re: 65 C10 brown paint color?

That is pretty close to 1966 Saddle Poly. That picture has been fairly heavily edited so that is not the true color of the truck.

Here are a few more pictures of the truck.

This truck is original paint Saddle Poly.

Thanks for posting these additional pics. Do you happen to know if the owner is a member here? I'd love to see if they have a build thread on that nice looking truck. I agree that Saddle metallic is probably very close to that color.

Not that I know of. Hale's Speed Shop built it. Here's a link to their facebook page.
