Wanting opinions on mirrors...
So my 75 is booked in for body work first week of July. New doors are going on, and with them new mirrors as well. I ordered a pair of the small "sport" mirrors because I like that they don't break up the flow of the body lines of the truck. But I'm becoming concerned that they may look small and silly on my 3/4 ton. My truck currently has the "tripod" mirrors, which I like, as they have great visibility. But they aren't the prettiest and the metal-on-painted metal contact isn't something I'm comfortable with on a truck that's about to be repainted. Even with rubber washers under the contact points it's starting to rust. And lastly, the DH9 "below eye level" mirrors. They are bigger (better visibility) than the sport mirrors, yet cleaner looking than the tripod mirrors. But it seams that every truck has them. I'm wondering what you all like on your trucks, and what you may consider to look good on mine. I'll post a few pics, first ones of the trucks with the above mirrors and one of mine as it currently sits. Thanks!

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
I like below eye line mirrors on 4x4's and sport mirrors on 4x2.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
#1 mirrors look good, suck as mirrors to actually see stuff.
#3 mirrors look good on all but lowered short bed trucks and are excellent as mirrors.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
1 are hard to use as a mirror but look cool,2 would be better for towing and 3 would be good for a all around truck.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
Sport mirrors are sporty but hard to see out of. I have the same mirrors on a 70 Impala. #2 mirrors are what I have always had all my life and look right on a 70's truck. #3 is what I always called 80's mirrors; pretty sleek and work well. I wouldn't put #3 on my 70's truck but it is personal preference so I say put on what YOU like.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
My 75 came with with #1. Ok for daily driver. When I got a boat, they sucked for towing. Put on a set of #3. Much better for trailer towing. Not so good for tight parking spots. Never had #2.

I like the tripod lookswise but I understand your hesitation.

Don't mean to Hijack. But I have #3 mirrors and the one will not stay put. Anyway to tighten it up? I like the #3 best. Thanks

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
The shop that will be doing the body work on my truck is actually sourcing them for me, they are already ordered. The shop owner has owned and restored several square bodies over the years and he said he orders them from Keystone and likes the fitment on them.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
You can use the Power Dumbo mirrors off the G-series conversion vans and Dodge trucks on the CK truck mounting bases... They look like #3 but have power adjust.
The switch is up to you. The 90 & 91 Suburban had power mirrors so the switch from those may work if you can find one. Mid 80's B or G body power mirror joysticks might work as well.

Re: Wanting opinions on mirrors...
I am a purist on these trucks so i like #2 tripod myself, i have never had a problem with them on my two trucks. They go better with your year model. Regaurdless of what you pick they will look good.
