Mazda 1000 Ute colours

Hi,

I have a 3rd month 1978 Mazda 1000 Ute I am currently restoring. I am trying to find the original colour code of the Ute. Could someone tell me if there are colour codes on the ID tags or how I can identify what colour it is.

In 1978 Mazda used small silver stickers like this for paint colour codes across its entire vehicle range:

It wasn't until 1981 that they started stamping colour codes into the ID plate. So if you've lost the sticker, it makes it a bit harder to tell. There are some colour charts floating around the forum which I can dig up - that should narrow down the options.

Do you know roughly what colour it is eg white, red, silver etc? If you cannot tell due to previous resprays, you may be able to pull up bits of the interior to check what's underneath for the original colour.

I've seen the sticker under the bonnet or on the firewall.

I'll dig around for the colour charts...

I have done a bit of research. I have a feeling that the colour Is Aurora white .

I agree. That's the most likely candidate.

Paint code is WN

I did read somewhere that Margeurite White (WR) was available up until the late 70s, although that conflicts with other information.
