Q3 - 1988-1991 Honda CRX Si (I'd still like one but they've all been modded or riced to hell or have 200k+ miles)

Q4 - Lamborghini Countach LP500S (Had a 6-foot poster on my wall too!)

    ...and across the line.

    1996 Mazda Miata - R-Package (Eve-L)

Q1- Red 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport.  4.0L "HO" 5 speed manual and 2-wheel drive. Looked exactly like the one below

Q2-Same vehicle. Family wagon I got it as my first car with 170k miles on it. If I wouldn't have wrecked the damn thing I'd probably still have it :)

Q3- A 4WD Jeep. Not a Wrangler but a Cherokee with a lift and such.

Q4-Didn't really have one Liked Jeeps a lot! Once I got stationed back in Tx and realized there was a lot more paved road than off road....road, I switched to cars and my Miata.

When I was in Boot Camp I had my mom mail me photos of my Jeep and I would buy a sunday paper (only free time we got) so I could cut out ads of Jeep Cherokees for sale in the for sale section

    My answers:

Q1 - M38A1, no instruction, just learned by discovery.

Q2 - 1949 Ford Tudor, paid $150 in 1964. It was dark blue when I bought it, but I painted it Burgundy Mist. It had the big motor, 100 HP and 3 speed with overdrive.

Q3 - I came close to buying a 1964 Lotus Super Seven Kit. Still love those Sevens.

Q4 - If not a King Cobra, at least a Cobra. And for the track, a Lotus 23B.

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Couldn't dig up any actual pix, but at least these are the right color...

Q1 - What car did you learn to drive in?
I learned to drive stick in my grandfather's '82 Datsun King Cab 4x4 - looked just like this except his had a bad-ass light bar in the bed.

...and when I got my learner's permit, I got to play in my dad's SHO. He was a bad influence who encouraged me to "wind it out" and "jack with that M6" from time to time. I did as I was told.

Q2 - What was your first car? (how much did you pay?)
I sort of had two first cars... first up was a 1978 Camaro that my dad and I bought at an auction - I paid half...

It looked like the one in the pic - very clean and very red. But then we worked on it and decided that no matter what, it was still going to run like crap and leave me stranded. So we sold it before I got my license, and the Camaro proceeds went toward an '89 Mustang 5.0 - it looked about like a DPS Stang, and I won't deny that I owned a Vanilla Ice CD at some point in time.

Q3 - What car did you want to drive back then? (with in the budget)
I wanted an old muscle car. My folks had (and still have) a '63 Impala SS 409, a '65 Mustang convertible, and a '76 Eldorado convertible. But I really liked the old 442, and back in the day you could still find a decent driver for $5K (well, maybe not a 442, but at least a Cutlass with a 350)...

Q4 - What was you teenage dream car? (or the car poster hanging on your wall)
A slant-nose 911 Turbo was the end-all be-all back in the day... legendary. I mean, they just don't make cars that can easily kill you like they used to...
    '94 Black & Black & Tan
'99 head swap, JR header, TDR intake & header blanket, MegaSquirt, RB hollow bar, Tein Flex, 15x8 6ULs, HD M2 Sport, FM cat, Borla cat-back, black '95M interior, MOMO Zebrano, IL Motorsport console...

    8/23/08 (Borla cat-back): 108.2 hp/104.1 lb-ft - Dynojet
    8/13/11 (more stuff...): 126 hp/116 lb-ft - Mustang dyno

Q1 - What car did you learn to drive in?
A: I learned in three cars. An '80 Caprice Classic, a '70 Torino Wagon and a '50 Chevy Truck.

The Caprice looked just like this, but single color, not two tone.

The Torino was an ex Kodak deliver car and had once been painted Kodak yellow. My dad repainted it metallic pine green.

The truck wasn't nearly this nice. It was a beater on a farm and had led a hard life.

Q2 - What was your first car? (how much did you pay?)
A: A '71 Datsun 240Z. It was bone stock down to the hubcaps. Paid $1500 but had to do some work to make it drivable.

    Looked exactly like this. Exactly.

Q3 - What car did you want to drive back then? (with in the budget)
A: A VW GTi. Volkswagen marketing worked. Preferably in black.

Q4 - What was you teenage dream car? (or the car poster hanging on your wall)
    A: A Ford RS200

As an aside, I bought my first new car in late '89. A Merkur XR4ti. Sort of half way between the GTi and the RS200. Looked exactly like this one.

Q1 = Driving in general, my father's Toyota truck. I used to steal it and drive it around, trying to park it back exactly as it was when I took it (I was 12 or 13). Driving stick, a huge dump truck at the landscaping company I worked at when I was 13 or 14

Q2 = 1984 300zx turbo. Paid $300. Was doing demo for my mom's friends, and the car was sitting in the grass at their neighbor's house. It was love at first sight. Have a pic in a box somewhere..

    Q3 = my brother's friend's 1994 240sx. Almost bought it too, but ended up finding my '92 300zx instead :)

    Q4 = Lotus Esprit

Q2 - What was your first car? (how much did you pay?)

First car was a 1971 Dodge Demon paid $200 for it in 1983. 4 wheel drum brakes, one worked. Hey a kid needs to learn somewhere, right?

Q3 - What car did you want to drive back then? (with in the budget)

    68 Barracuda Formula S with a 340/4-spd

Q4 - What was you teenage dream car? (or the car poster hanging on your wall)

I too had the Countach on my wall, only because I couldn't find a Porsche 928 poster. Also slightly miffed when my parents sold the Galaxie to an older cousin when I was 14.

    Default Porsche... duh!

    Post pics if you can.

Q1 - What car did you learn to drive in?

Learned to drive in my dad's Dodge Coronet Station Wagon

Q2 - What was your first car? (how much did you pay?)

My first car was a 1972 VW Beetle (not a Super Beetle). Paid $800 for it and loved it until the day it died.

Q3 - What car did you want to drive back then? (with in the budget)

If I'd had any real money, I would have bought a TR6 or a VW Scricco. If I had any real money today, both of those would be in my collection as we speak.

Q4 - What was you teenage dream car? (or the car poster hanging on your wall)

My dream cars at the time were a Porsche 930 Turbo, Ferrari 308... and a particular Lotus

There was this very cool poster of the Porsche with the silouette of a woman's back (and backside), the neck of a violin, and a Porsche Turbo... showed the "sexy", classic lines of each, and I thought it was fantastic. Wish I could find one of those, as it'd be hanging in my garage now! It looked like this (the only version I could find on the interweb):

"That which does not kill us, just makes us madder"

Learned on: Suzuki Brute - stick shift I was 8. Dad said might as well learn since you can push the clutch to the floor. I was sad the day he sold it and the guy drove it up into the bed of a 1 ton dully and drove off.

first car: 85' VW Golf Diesel that had been wrecked by brother (not his fault) $500

Looks almost just like this but light blue metallic:

    3. Wanted: too many cars to count - l liked so many. A miata!!!!! Took my test in a turbo Samurai. I wanted the 85' Toyota truck from back to the future. I'll always have love for the 69' Charger known as the General Lee.

    4. Out of budget as a kid: a bluebird bus towing a Rolls. As a teen: Probably an old Bronco or Jeep.
