MY09 Rear Bumper
I have bought a brand new MY09 rear bumper from Ebay to fit to my D3, but upon unwrapping the packaging I was suprised to finnd the bumper to be fully shiny/smooth black plastic (primered?)
I was expecting the bottom half to be textured black like the original bumper/arches that I have, and the top half only needed to be sprayed body coloured?
Does anyone know if its meant to be like that? Is it possible to get the bottom half textured? Do they spray this on?
Any help woud be greatly appreciated

The textures on pre-09 are imprinted during the moulding process as far as I recall 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Is the bumper I bought actually the right one? If so, how do you get the lower part of the bumper to be textured? As I assume you reuse the old tow cover as well?

Think you may have the wrong part for your car. I believe it will fit but as you have already found will stand out as it is smooth. Talk to TLO at LR Yeovil he will be able to point you in the right dirrection.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

The half painted ones have a mould line all the way round that you paint down too

Did they spray the grey texture bottom? as the paintshop I went to said it wasnt possible, guess it wasn't a good one.

Just to be clear the pre 09MY bumpers had a texture printed into the plastic surface...09MY on had smooth bumpers which were split by a distinguishing line ....painted smooth above and plain smooth below 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Painted top and textured imprinted bottom.Only dead fish go with the Flow !

Right, Got it, the top one i have now !
The bottom one is the one refered to as model 3:5 ? i can get the top painted and the bottom remains as is.
I got over confused as the OP said he had the wrong one as it was smooth and not textured and then Simon said he had the body shop texture his
Its OK now i get itOnly dead fish go with the Flow !
