The glass lenses for my back up light are flat. so I am sure that the ones for your truck are to.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

The factory glass lense for the '66 Chevy truck reverse lights are flat clear glass. They became available as an option in 1966 on the fleetside beds. The stepside bed reverse lights are a domed plastic lense.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

They are kind of flat glass with a little dome to them...I use them for the signal lights on my '62.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

I see the domed style on fleetsides, sometimes, but mostly on the stepside beds. Looks good.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

I've never seen them on steps...I usually see the domed plastic ones on step, if they have them at all...

Thanks...

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

Here are a few more examples of factory reverse lights on a couple of my '66 Chevy trucks. Reverse lights were not standard until 1966 on the fleetsides.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

David:

Per the GM literature I have collected, the fleetside trucks in 1966, came with these reverse lights, as standard equipment. Every '66 Fleetside bed I have and have seen, has them. Per the Chevy trucks history books, that is one way to tell a '66 Chevy fleetside from a '64 or '65, not to mention the body badges. Other than the VIN, the only difference between the '64, '65 & '66 Chevy trucks is the body badges and the VIN on the underside of the drivers door jamb. I hope this helps.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

Damn, so I guess my bed is from a 64 or 65.
Oh well.

Re: 65 Fleet Backup Lights

Here is a good shot of the domed lense reverse lights on a '65 Chevy stepside bed. Although, these lenses are different than the factory domed reverse light lenses I have seen in the past.
