Forged Silver Metallic AWD Tech

Finally - It's back from the shop, the headliner has no lines... Love my new car!

The paint looks different in different light - this is with overcast skies - it makes the paint look darker and more blue. When the sun comes out again, I'll post some more!

Congratulations. Forged Silver Metallic looks great on the RDX.

The interior looks light colored in those pictures. I didn't know they offered the parchment interior with that exterior color. Nice. I have a TSX wagon in FSM, but the interior is black.

Lovely colour! I really like the bluish hue under cloudy conditions.

I wonder what Weather will call me now, since I really like FSM too! :-)

Ah, the sun is back! Here are some pics in morning sun. I hope it shows how different the paint looks in direct light.

And yes, it does have the parchment interior. I have a yellow lab, and her hair really only shows up when it makes it to the dash.

I wasn't 100% confident in the color - I was worried it was too blue. But I wanted the parchment interior, and I figured the FSM wouldn't show dirt and water spots as bad as say Charcoal would. And the other silver is only available with the ebony interior. But the longer I have it, the more the color is growing on me.

Me too. Even the Acura salesmen kept referring to the color as light blue. I wish they offered the parchment interior on the wagon. Anyway, you made a good choice.

Okay, I've been guilted into this by a couple of you who have spent a ton of time detailing your new cars (weather and mikejmack - you know who you are!). I'm thinking the "Clear Coat Protectant" at the spray car wash wasn't bringing out the full shine. So I took a couple of hours and waxed my RDX this morning (I couldn't bring myself to break out a clay bar or polish).

So now I'm adding to the car pr0n on this forum.

Looks fantastic. The colour looks great. It has two distict personalities.

Enjoy the pride of cleaning it yourself ( and saving a few swirl marks at the same time )

bh9712...I hope your RDX will send me and mikejmack a thank you card for convincing you to give him the tender loving care it deserves *lol*

In all seriousness....there is alot to be said about doing your vehicle yourself and the great results it yields after the fact. You have done an amazing job...too bad its getting late here or I'd be going out and giving my TL/RDX a quick scrub.....Oh wait, I did that earlier today and both are in the garage for the next rain event for tomorrow ad Wednesday. You gotta love the 3rd car to do the heavy lifting!

BTW...I have been driving the Hyundai Accent and that thing gives amazing fuel mileage. I fueled up today (by the way Mikejmack, Costco here is selling gas at 117$/L) and my last tank averaged 5.6L/100km which is mixed of city/highway at the 40/60 rate respectively. This is about 42mpg for you US folks....This is pretty amazing

Oh my! It looks wonderful! You guys are making me SO JEALOUS.... I really miss this part of the "relationship" with my car, since I cannot get it washed at home here in Calgary! I really enjoyed the waxing and polishing that I used to do before I moved to Calgary....sigh!

Now, Weather, you called it a "him".... and not "her", eh? LOL

BTW, now my favourite colours for the RDX are officially white, red and forged silver. So which is my absolute favourite? Hmm.... decisions, decisions, decisions....

Couldn't you get a tri-colored RDX? Front White, middle forged silver and the back red? That would be a great and UNIQUE looking vehicle.

My question is would Acura provide an Ebony or parchment interior color? We all know how limiting they can be *lol*

I hate cleaning my car. Maybe I should move to Calgary so I don't have to feel guilty about having someone else do it.

Looks great! I have the same one coming in...sometime! LOL! I think FSM may be a "sleeper" color. Looks good in different lighting and the parchment interior looks great with it. I was getting a White Pearl one, but, I know that even the detail/touch up guys HATE to work with this color. I've owned 1 car that was a pearl white. Got hit in the back and it took MANY repaints to try and get a color match. Even Dupont "experts" showed up to work with the mixing process. I didn't want to deal with those kind of issues again. Wife wanted the white....but, I "guided" her over to the FSM. I've wanted an RDX, but, did not like the previous model with the turbo engine. Not smooth, not linear, not that great to drive around town. Acura made all the changes that I was looking for...well, most of them.
I have the same engine in my '12 Accord Cpe. Same hp, same cylinder deactivation, etc. Hey, they are Hondas!

Hmm.... actually, Weather, if I have one third of the RDX in red, one third in white, and one third in amber brownstone/urban titanium.... then the colour would be called "Neapolitan", right!? LOL

Oh, let me take UMBER interior.... huh?! Where the heck is that wonderful colour!?!?!?

BH9712 your vehicle is absolutely beautiful. I love the distinct colours depending on the lighting but all look great.

I am pretty sure I'm going to go with this colour but with the ebony interior as my two dogs will mark up the lighter Parchment interior.

Thanks for posting the great pics and happy motoring.

Congratulations on your new ride! The color is great. I originally wanted the Forged Silver with parchment interior, but changed my mind after I saw the Silver Moon with ebony interior. Now, I really like the ebony interior, completely different from my last ride.

It all worked out for the best. I would have had Forged Silver with Parchment and never known the joy of an Ebony interior.

Love the Forged Silver Metallic

ordering the vehicle tomorrow. Torn between white and the forged silver. I like black interior which I can only get in the silver. Question, is this a blue/silver or more like a purple silver. It appears like a light tanzanite on the computer. Please reply

kokomia,

As you can see from the pictures above and other online images, the forged silver has a different color under different lighting. To me it seems like it goes from light blue to dark grey through the day.

That was one thing that I liked most about the forged silver. Also, it is not such a pain to maintain as white is.

I am going through the same turmoil you did. I prefer an black interior because I travel to my lake house alot. The white is stunning but nervous about the tan interior getting dirty. I cant get it in black. How do you like the forged Sivler metallic.

Thanks for responding. To me it looks like it has a deep purple lavender hue on computer. I am going to look at it again tomorrow in the afternoon to get a better feel. The color in the lot is not on the RDX, but still the same

I haven't seen the purple/ lavender cast on mine. Its a good idea to check it out in person and not rely on images on the computer as the colors might be off.

Once in a while, mine will look a bit purple, but only when there is a vivid sunset and it gets a little red in the reflection. Acura has a color on some vehicles called Palladium Metallic that has a rosier color...

gettiing my RDX forged silver metallic tomorrow with black interior. I am excited and nervous. I saw the color on a different vehicle in the lot, but was only able to see a portion of it. It had a slate blueish hue to it. I am excited and nervous. Hope I am happy with color!!

Here is the Forged on my TSX. I share in your thoughts about the uniqueness of this color - Liked it when I first saw it; then didn't like; then liked it better than other available colors. After I polished and waxed it, I liked it more.
