Motivosity 4+

When I joined our organization six months ago I found they did this Motivosity thing and decided to check it out. I was skeptical at first and thought “Really? People actually say thank you for things and send a buck or two? Sounds corny and gimmicky.”

I’ve never worked at an organization that had a institution wide mechanism to express gratitude. I believe that having this mechanism has helped me to look for the good that others are doing and praise their efforts more often then I would have. I don’t send thanks or praise unless I mean it, but I am definitely more conscious of the efforts of others. And yes, if I’m honest, I enjoy hearing about a contribution that I may have made and even getting a nice coffee once and a while with my Motivosity bucks.

Little things add up and I think this service helps to set a more upbeat tone in our organization.

You know how you randomly think about things throughout your day? I find myself doing that frequently about work. Something like, Oh! I should have said thank you for that fantastic meeting today to Jen. Or, I’m grateful Todd brought me a drink from the gas station. Motivosity on my phone let’s me take all those thoughts and out them into action! I love that whenever I feel like thanking a coworker I can easily do it in a few seconds from wherever I am. The UI is crisp, clean, easy to navigate, and such a positive place to spend time and browse the feed of appreciations. I hope more employers invest in this for their people.

As a leader of an organization, it’s been easy to see the value of Motivosity and how it impacts our culture and retention rate…. But now with the app it’s easier than ever to be more active in Motivosity. I will often share voice to text appreciations (though I try to check for grammatical errors before submitting) On my way home from work. This ensures I appreciate my team and is a nice way for me to end my day. Personally, as a leader, this has been a game changer, since I always don’t have time to login during the day. I highly suggest for executive teams everywhere. (Final note: yes, this is also a voice to text review)
