This was my first hot rod build I did on my own. When I was a kid, my dad said if I kept my grades up I could start building a hot rod when I was 14. My dad has had a Willys delivery when he was in high school and always talked about so I thought it would be cool to build one too. I bought the Willys I started my build with a few days after my 14 birthday with money earned working construction since I was 12. I had it running and driving by the time I was 16 and painted by 17. It was my daily driver for 10 years. That was 25 years ago. It is a Willys body on a shortened ‘79 chevy c15 truck chassis. Since the chevy running gear is wider than the Willys, I built the front fenders, running boards, and rear fenders from scratch. I do all my own work and have built and sold several hot rods (2wd, 4wd, new and old) over the years, but always kept my first build.

Looks great. I had a 53 before I went in the Army at 17. My mom sold it and I moved around where ever the Army sent me. I have been looking for a 53 for a few years now that I could restore. I’m a 69 yr old disabled Vet and would love to find one and cross that off my bucket list.
Obviously a very talented Individual. Beautiful rod!
Very nice work, I really like it 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Very Nice looking Rig, the two tone paint really makes it pop out.
