This Ford Roadster was assembled using a fiberglass Wescott’s Auto Restyling body mounted to a Total Cost Involved frame before it was acquired by the seller in 1984. The car is finished in green over brown vinyl upholstery and powered by a Chevrolet 350ci V8 mated with a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a beige soft top, 15″ McLean wire wheels, a Ford 9″ rear end, a four-link rear suspension setup, Ford Mustang front disc brakes, Koni shocks, a wood-finished dashboard, a rear rumble seat, Stewart Warner gauges, and a JVC head unit. A Zips water pump riser was installed in April 2023. This 1932-style Ford hot rod is now offered at no reserve with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The fiberglass body was sourced from Wescott’s Auto Restyling and fitted with a steel hood and front fenders as well as a beige soft top. The car rides on a Total Cost Involved frame and was repainted the current shade of metallic green in 2015. Additional equipment includes a tilting windshield, a luggage rack, chrome Gennie Rod headlight housings and door handles, wind wings, chrome bumpers and trim, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome-finished 15″ McLean wire wheels are wrapped in 195/60 front and 235/70 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The suspension consists of a chrome front drop axle and a Total Cost Involved four-link rear suspension kit as well as Koni shocks, 190-lb springs, a Mustang-specification steering box, and a Deuce Factory steering damper and shackles. Braking is handled by Ford Mustang-style front discs paired with rear drums.
The bench seat is trimmed in brown vinyl that extends to the door panels. Equipment includes tan carpeting, door pockets, a floor shifter, and a JVC head unit.
The rumble seat is upholstered in brown vinyl.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a wood dashboard housing Stewart Warner gauges consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and readouts for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 8,700 miles, approximately 7,200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The Chevrolet 350ci V8 reportedly utilizes “fuelie” cylinder heads with 1.94″ intake valves as well as a COMP Cams camshaft and an Edelbrock carburetor. Additional equipment includes a Walker radiator, a Mallory Unilite distributor, finned valve covers, Deuce Factory exhaust headers, and a custom exhaust system. A Zips water pump riser was installed in April 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission with a B&M Holeshot torque converter and a narrowed Ford 9″ rear end. Additional images showing the condition of the underside are included in the gallery below.
The aftermarket VIN plate displays the sequence “AB5000481” and corresponds with the VIN used on the current Arizona title, which lists the car as a “1932 Ford RD.”
