This Dodge Pickup got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1936 Dodge LC 1/2-Ton Pickup was acquired on BaT in October 2017 by the seller, who has since completed the previously unfinished project. He addressed brake issues, cleaned the fuel tank, flushed the fuel lines, and installed the grille, trim pieces, and hardware. A rear bumper has also been fitted using custom brackets. Cosmetic refinishing had been performed during the previous longterm single-family ownership, including body and paint work. Following a recent oil change, the truck is now said to be roadworthy, though the seller has only added a few miles during his ownership. This Dodge Pickup is now being sold with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Exterior refinishing was initiated years ago by a friend of the previous owner’s father, and color variation does exist between the doors, cab, and hood. All four fenders were professionally refurbished, and the grille and trim has been installed by the seller. The lights are now wired to factory switches and operational. The mount for the spare is included but will require modification in order to be properly attached to the passenger-side front fender.

Brackets were fabricated and added to allow fitment of a rear bumper, which did not come on the truck from the factory. The passenger’s door latch has been adjusted and aligned such that the door now shuts securely. The truck is still wearing its old tires, which should be replaced before any significant driving.

The interior was also refurbished, but never completed by the previous owner’s father. The gauges, switches, trim pieces, and hardware have been installed by the seller, with electrics now operational. The heater is not connected, but comes with the truck.

Door and floor panels have been installed, and rubber mats have been cut to fit. A number of miscellaneous spare parts and the lug wrench are included with the sale.

The rebuilt flathead inline-six had not run in five years when the seller acquired the truck last October. The carburetor has since been cleaned and adjusted, the fuel pump was rebuilt, the fuel tank and lines were flushed, and a new 8-volt battery was installed. An oil change and fluid check were performed within the past two weeks, and the truck is said to be running well.

At the time of the seller’s purchase, the four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes were noted to be in need of attention. After his purchase, the seller honed the wheel cylinders, cleaned the pistons, and installed new inner rubbers in front of the pistons and new dust boots. The master cylinder was then cleaned out and the whole system was bled.
