This Packard Twelve got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1938 Packard Twelve convertible sedan is finished in Centennial Blue over a red leather interior and is reported to be one of just five surviving examples. It was formerly part of the Charles Cawley and Blackhawk collections, before being acquired by noted collector John Gambs. Approximately 500 miles have been added by the seller. Power is from a 473ci V12 backed by a 3-speed manual gearbox, and factory equipment includes power clutch and brakes, dual side mounts, a hideaway cabin partition, and roll-up windows. A service performed approximately 500 miles ago included a tune-up and brake adjustment. This Packard is now offered with a transferable Alabama registration.

The tombstone grille is topped with a Packard cormorant hood ornament, and the 4-door convertible sedan body features an integrated V-shape windscreen and front-hinged doors. Dual side-mount spares are concealed behind hardcovers integrated into each of the front fenders. The seller reports the exterior shows to have been repainted in lacquer at some point in the past, and a few chips and imperfections are visible in the finish.
