This Buick Roadmaster got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible is said to have undergone a refurbishment approximately 20 years ago and was reportedly owned by the same family from 1995 until it was sold on BaT in April 2020. The car is finished in black over red leather upholstery and is powered by a 320ci straight-eight paired with a two-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a tan power-operated soft top, dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers, and 15″ wheels with chrome wheel covers as well as a hydraulically-operated front bench seat, power windows, a heater and front-window defroster, and a carpeted trunk. Service reported under current ownership has included repairing the brakes, changing the oil, and replacing the battery as well as the rear shocks and links. This Roadmaster convertible is offered on dealer consignment in Florida with recent service records and a clean Florida title.

The Roadmaster’s revised bodywork for the 1949 model year marked the debut of Buick’s front-fender “VentiPorts.” Originally finished in Carlsbad Black, the car was reportedly repainted under previous ownership, with other work including replacing the canvas on the power-operated soft top and re-plating the exterior brightwork. The car is equipped with chrome bumpers, fog lights, dual side mirrors, and crank-operated vent windows. Pitting is present on the chrome, and paint imperfections can be viewed in the gallery below.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer that is flanked by gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level as well as an analog clock. The selling dealer reports that the fuel gauge was serviced and that the fuel-level sending unit and the turn-signal stalk were replaced by the current owner. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 10k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
