This 1949 DeSoto Custom club coupe is finished in white with a gray roof over gray upholstery, and it is said to have undergone a refurbishment under previous ownership. Power comes from a 237ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted Fluid Drive transmission, and features include a push-button AM radio, front lap belts, a front spotlight, driving lamps, and steel wheels with chrome covers. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. This DeSoto is now offered at no reserve with a clean Wisconsin title.

The car is believed to have been repainted its current shade of white with a gray roof under prior ownership. Exterior details include a chrome front spotlight, chrome bumpers and trim, driving lamps with yellow lenses, and dual side mirrors. Chips in the paint at the front of the car are shown up close in the photo gallery below. A recent inspection found that the brake lights do not work and the wiper blades should be replaced.

Body-color 15” steel wheels wear chrome covers and are mounted with 225/75 whitewall tires. A spare is found in the trunk compartment, where corrosion is evident on the floor. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners.

The cabin houses two rows of bench seats trimmed in gray fabric, with brown vinyl and red fabric accents on the backs of the front seats. Red fabric and brown vinyl trim covers the door panels, the front floors are protected by a red rubber mat, and other appointments include a woodgrain-style dashboard and trim, a push-button AM radio, lap belts for front occupants, and a clock. Wear is noted on the seats and the carpeting, and the radio and the horn are inoperable.

The three-spoke steering wheel has a horn ring and sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer and a cluster of auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The steering-wheel rim is cracked and its spokes are tarnished.

The 237ci inline-six is topped by a single carburetor with an oil-bath air cleaner and sends power to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Fluid Drive transmission that works in conjunction with a clutch pedal.
