Modified 1949 Fargo Flatbed Truck

This 1949 Fargo truck rides on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado frame and is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 4.8-liter V8 linked to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels. The seller’s shop acquired the truck in January 2019 and performed the chassis and powertrain swap. Additional modifications include an FiTech Ultimate LS 750HP intake manifold and ECU as well as staggered Fuel Off-Road wheels. This Fargo truck is registered as a 2019 Amalgamated vehicle and is offered in Canada with transferable Alberta registration in the seller’s shop’s name.

Fargo trucks were built and sold by Chrysler in a number of global markets, including Canada, and this example features a 1949 cab and front clip on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado frame and is equipped with a custom flatbed deck with wood planks. The cab is finished in faded blue paint with exposed metal, and modifications include a cutout in the hood for turbocharger clearance, a single sideview mirror, yellow headlights with guards, a camshaft located in place of the front bumper, and more. Corrosion is noted at the bottoms of the doors.

A wood-rimmed NRG quick-release steering wheel fronts instrumentation including a five-digit odometer reported to read just under 92k miles, and the seller reports that the donor chassis had approximately 300k kilometers (~186k miles) when it was fitted to the truck. About 500 miles are said to have been added since completion of the build, and the seller notes that the factory speedometer is inoperable. The dashboard also houses an AutoMeter boost gauge and a GO-EFI FiTech fuel-injection monitor.
