This Mercury Eight got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1949 Mercury Eight convertible is said to have been acquired from the original owner’s family by the current owner in 2021, and it is powered by a 255ci flathead V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over red and white vinyl upholstery, the car features a power-operated white soft top, a split windshield, rear fender shirts, wheel covers, whitewall tires, power windows, a power-adjustable front seat, a push-button AM radio, and an aftermarket radiator and exhaust system. This Mercury 9CM convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with transferable New York registration.

The car was finished from the factory in Tampico Red (19) and features a white soft top. The rear fender skirts are pictured both in place and removed in the gallery below. The soft top is faded, and a tear is noted on the right side. Paint cracking is present throughout the body.
