This Buick Super got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1950 Buick Super 126 Tourback sedan was acquired by the seller out of an estate sale in non-running condition in 2019, and work since that time is said to have included rebuilding the carburetor and brakes, refurbishing the interior, installing an air-suspension system and an electric fuel pump, and replacing the fuel tank and mechanical fuel pump. The car is finished in green over black and gray upholstery, and power is supplied by a 263ci straight-eight mated to a two-speed automatic transmission. This Buick Model 52 is now offered with service records from current and prior ownership, owner’s and shop manuals, spare trim and wheel rings, a distributor, a new water pump, a refurbished fuel pump, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Allendale Green and features a side-hinged hood with Ventiports and a bombsight mascot, pop-out quarter windows, and Sweepspear character lines, as well as chrome bumpers, body-side moldings, and window surrounds. Close-up photos of blemishes that include chips and peeling paint are provided in the gallery below.

Steel 15″ wheels have been powdercoated black, fitted with branded hubcaps, and wrapped in Dayton Quadra XT2 whitewall tires. An Air Lift Performance air suspension was installed at Retro Rides in Bend, Oregon. The system is controlled via Bluetooth and is powered by a dedicated alternator and battery, the latter of which is concealed in a repurposed Buick ice chest in the trunk.

The interior features bench seats that have been reupholstered in black vinyl with gray cloth seating surfaces, matching replacement door panels, darker gray replacement carpeting, and a brown replacement headliner. The rearview mirror, sun visors, and visor clips were also replaced. Amenities include a push-button AM radio, a Bluetooth speaker mounted beneath the dashboard, and a center armrest in the rear. Extra vinyl material and carpeting are included in the sale.

The three-spoke steering wheel features a horn ring and sits ahead of a black-painted steel dash with a chrome speaker grille and instrumentation consisting of a 110-mph speedometer flanked by combination gauges for amperage/engine temperature and fuel level/oil pressure. The five-digit odometer indicates 66k miles, approximately 100 of which were added during current ownership of two years; true mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge, the turn signals, and the brake lights are inoperative, and other imperfections are discussed in one of the seller’s videos provided below.

The 263ci Fireball straight-eight is equipped with a Carter 725 two-barrel carburetor, an AC glass-bowl fuel filter, and a pair of six-volt batteries connected in parallel, and it was rated at 124 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque when new. A replacement mechanical fuel pump was installed at the engine, and an electric fuel pump was mounted on the frame near the replacement fuel tank. The exhaust was cut short ahead of the rear axle to accommodate the air suspension and has not been re-extended. The oil was changed in January 2021.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Dynaflow two-speed automatic transmission that leaks at the torque-ball assembly. Additional photos of the underbody can be viewed in the gallery.

It is noted that the vehicle is titled under the stamped engine number (57905375) and not the chassis number listed on the identification plate (25584515). Expired Oregon registration cards from 1986 and 2001 indicate that the car was similarly registered to the engine number at those times.
