383-Powered 1951 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup

This 1951 Chevrolet 3600 pickup was acquired by the owner as an unfinished project in 2022 and was subsequently refurbished and modified. The body was shaved and decked, and additional work consisted of repainting the body, re-trimming the interior, re-wiring the truck, and replacing the bed assembly, oak bed flooring, rubber seals, and glass. An Air Ride Technologies air suspension system was installed along with a Mustang II-style front crossmember, power rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes as well as a 383ci V8 linked with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 9″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential. The truck is finished in brown over tan and brown upholstery, and details include rear-hinged doors, smoothed running boards, 20″ US Mags wheels, Beede instrumentation, an Ididit tilting steering column, a Lecarra steering wheel, an HEI distributor, an aluminum radiator, and Jet Hot-coated exhaust headers. This modified 3600 pickup is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Colorado title.

The truck is finished in brown and is said to have been repainted following modifications under current ownership. The truck was shaved and decked, the glass and seals were replaced, and a replacement bed assembly, red oak bed flooring, and stainless runners were installed. Front and rear bumpers were removed and replaced with roll pans, and additional details include smoothed running boards, rear-hinged doors, remote-controlled door poppers, and a bowtie-stamped tailgate. The paint on the cab does not match the front clip, and the windshield wipers have been removed. The wiper motor has been fitted but has not been wired.

Polished 20″ US Mags wheels are mounted with 245/45 Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The truck features a boxed frame, a Heidts Mustang II-style front cross-member, an Air Ride Technologies air suspension system, and power rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping power is provided by discs at each corner.

Bolstered front bucket seats are trimmed in tan upholstery with brown pleated inserts joined by a color-coordinated center console, headliner, and door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, a roof enclosure, polished door sills, black floor mats, and a floor-mounted shifter with a piston-shaped handle.

The Lecarra steering wheel is mounted to a tilting Ididit column and frames a Beede multi-function gauge and a matching speedometer that is not connected. The digital odometer shows 1 mile. Total mileage is unknown.

The 383ci V8 was installed under current ownership and features an HEI distributor, a four-barrel carburetor, Jet Hot-coated exhaust headers, and a finned intake scoop and valve covers. The brown-finished firewall has been smoothed, and a fuel cell and an aluminum radiator have been fitted.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 9″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers terminates with turn-down tips ahead of the rear axle.
