This Chevrolet Advance Design Pickup (1947-1955) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1952 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is powered by a replacement overbored 261ci straight-six linked to a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and was the subject of a refurbishment completed under previous ownership. Recently acquired by the current owner, the truck is finished in blue over burgundy upholstery and features a painted wood bed floor, running boards, spiral-style shocks, and 16″ steel wheels. Work under prior ownership included a repaint, a frame refinish, and an engine rebuild, and the truck was reportedly awarded the Gold Senior award from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) in 2010 as well as a Grand National award in 2012. This Advance Design pickup is now offered in New York by the seller on behalf of the current owner, a licensed New York dealer, with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean North Carolina title.

Chevrolet’s Advance Design pickup was produced from 1947 until 1955, and this example features a side mirror and silver-painted bumpers and grille accents. A repaint in blue accented with a black bed floor and running boards was completed under prior ownership according to the seller, who notes the frame was refinished at that time.

Painted steel wheels wear two-tone Chevrolet-branded hubcaps and 6.00-16″ Firestone tires featuring “piecrust” sidewalls. A matching spare is mounted to the underside of the bed. Drum brakes are equipped at all four corners, and the truck rides on spiral-style shocks and leaf springs.

The replacement 261ci inline-six was reportedly bored .060 over during a rebuild in 2020 by Old Inline Power of Huntersville, North Carolina, and it features a single Rochester carburetor topped by an oil-bath air cleaner. Power is distributed to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission.
