1954 Buick Century Riviera

This 1954 Buick Century Riviera has been refinished in 2-tone red and black over a matching interior. The body was repainted in the early 1990s, and power comes from a 322ci Buick Nailhead V8 mated to a 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. The seller has owned the car for eight months and recent service included an oil change, fluid inspections, a brake system flush, brake adjustments, and repacked front wheel bearings. The odometer shows approximately 46k miles. This Century is offered with service records and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s company.

The body was repainted in the early 1990s in 2-tone red and black separated by chrome “Sweepspear” trim. The headlight bezels, grille bars, and other items were re-plated during that time.

A walk-around video with the engine running is shown above. Red steel wheels with chrome hubcaps are fitted with BF Goodrich wide whitewall bias-ply tires.

The interior is finished in matching red and black with a rubber floor mat. The seller states the radio does not work and the clock operates intermittently. The 5-digit odometer shows approximately 46k miles. A newspaper article dating from 1992 notes that the car had 29k miles at that time.

The seats are trimmed with red vinyl over patterned charcoal fabric. The rear package tray has been replaced. Seat belts have been added and the manually-operated windows are said to function smoothly.

The 322ci Nailhead V8 was rated at 200 horsepower when new and is mated to a 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. A battery disconnect has been added. Recent service consisted of an oil change and fluid inspection, and the brake fluid was flushed.

The brakes were recently inspected and the front wheel bearings repacked. The rear shock links have been replaced and a new brake switch installed.

Maintenance records and service receipts are included in the sale. The car is titled in Montana, as Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles of this age.
