This Chevrolet Advance Design Pickup (1947-1955) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1954 GMC 100 pickup is reported to have been refurbished with a custom repaint and interior in the 1990s by its previous owner, and was purchased by the seller two years ago. Power is provided by a 248ci inline-six paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. A 12-volt conversion was also carried out under previous ownership, while work performed for the seller included a brake overhaul, valve and carburetor adjustments, and a suspension inspection as well as installation of a PerTronix ignition setup, a new intake manifold gasket, and an oil bath air cleaner. This GMC is offered with manuals, a spare differential carrier, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

A metallic blue repaint was applied during the 1990s refurbishment, and several chips are noted to have been picked up since. Photos showing the condition of the paint up close can be found in the gallery below.

The interior was refinished in gray tweed cloth during the 1990s work and features gauges from Classic Instruments including a tachometer and clock. A Redhead heater is also fitted, with corrosion noted on the passenger-side floor near its fresh air inlet.

The six-digit odometer shows 4,300 miles, approximately 2k of which have been added during the seller’s two-year ownership. Total mileage is unknown. An aftermarket radio has been fitted poorly according to the seller, and is reported to be nonoperational. A short video of the interior and driver’s side is provided.

The 248ci inline-six powers the rear wheels through a column-shifted Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with four gear ranges. An alternator was added by the previous owner as part of a 12-volt electrical conversion. The seller replaced the ignition points with a PerTronix module, added a matching coil, serviced the carburetor, installed a new intake manifold gasket and oil bath air cleaner, and changed the oil. The transmission linkage is reported to need adjustment. A cold start video is available.

The brake master and wheel cylinders were replaced and the lines flushed by Tyreman’s in Grover Beach, California shortly after the seller acquired the truck. Subsequent work performed by the same shop included inspection of the suspension and replacement of the front ball bearings with roller bearings. A spare differential carrier for changing the ring and pinion ratio will go with the truck.

Driving videos are provided above and here.
