This Lincoln Capri got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1954 Lincoln Capri sedan is said to have spent time in Texas before being parked in long-term storage in New Hampshire more than 20 years ago and, and it was acquired by the seller’s father as a project in 2020. Powered by a 317ci Y-block V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in black over two-tone black and white upholstery. Equipment includes a power-adjustable front bench seat, a power antenna, power windows, power steering, a clock, door sill trim, and a push-button AM radio. The engine is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership, while the carburetor, fuel pump, and brake master cylinder were reportedly rebuilt under current ownership. This Capri is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of his father with manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment photos, uninstalled carpeting and doorsill trim, and New Hampshire registration in the owner’s name.

The Capri debuted for the 1952 model year and superseded the Cosmopolitan as Lincoln’s top-of-the-line series. This example is finished in black, and the front bumper, grille, and headlights have been refurbished and reinstalled. Exterior details include a driver-side fender mirror, rear fender skirts, an antenna, and chrome bumpers, rocker-panel trim, and side trim. Scratches and dents are noted on the rear bumper, and the paint is faded on the driver-side quarter panel and below the trunk lid.

Black-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome covers and are wrapped in Firestone whitewall tires that are about 20 years old. The brake master cylinder has reportedly been rebuilt, and the spare tire has been replaced.

The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in black leather with white vinyl complemented by a gold-painted dashboard and upper door panels. Equipment includes a power-adjustable front bench, power windows, an analog clock, aluminum doorsill trim, and a push-button AM radio. The full wiring harness has reportedly been replaced, as has the material on the parcel shelf. Replacement carpeting will accompany the car but has not yet been installed. The driver’s door panel is stained, and the headliner is torn on the left side.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a horizontally sweeping 120-mph speedometer plus gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, battery status, and coolant temperature. The speedometer does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 50 of which have been added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown.

The 317.5ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership and features a gold air cleaner and valve covers. Additional work since 2020 included rebuilding the carburetor and the fuel pump, and the engine bay has received paintwork.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Portions of the frame have been refinished.
