1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup NAPCO 4×4 4-Speed

This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is finished in green over tan vinyl upholstery and powered by a replacement 235ci inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a NAPCO dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes a curved windshield, a wood-lined bed floor, manually locking front hubs, and body-color 16″ steel wheels. The truck was purchased by the current owner in 2016, and subsequent work is said to have included installing turn signals, changing the differentials to 3.38:1 gearing, and overhauling the carburetor. This Chevrolet NAPCO 4×4 pickup now is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title in the name of the owner’s business.

The truck was repainted green under previous ownership, and details include a chrome grille and bumpers, a windshield visor, and bedside steps. Additional features consist of a curved windshield, a driver-side mirror, a wood-lined bed floor, and NAPCO badging. The undersides of the entry steps were repainted in 2024.

Body-color 16″ steel wheels wear bright hub caps and are mounted with 7.50-16″ Power King Extra Traction tires, while a spare is secured underneath. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, and stopping power is provided by unassisted four-wheel drum brakes.

The cab houses a bench seat upholstered in tan vinyl that is complemented by a beige dashboard and door panels as well as a black rubber floor mat. Additional features include sun visors, vent windows, a dome lamp, and a heater. A NAPCO POWR-PAK operating placard is affixed to the glovebox door and illustrates the operation of the transfer case shifter. Turn signals were reportedly installed under current ownership.

The three-spoke steering wheel is fitted with a Chevrolet bowtie horn emblem and frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 235ci inline-six was installed under prior ownership and is equipped with a downdraft carburetor and an oil-bath air cleaner. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have involved overhauling the carburetor and changing the oil. The seller notes oil leaks.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a NAPCO dual-range transfer case that features a power take-off port. Work performed under current ownership reportedly included changing the differentials to 3.38:1 gearing.
