This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is said to have undergone a refurbishment that was completed in 2010 and is finished in black over a black and white interior. Power is provided by 292ci V8 paired with a three-speed Fordomatic automatic transmission, and the car is equipped with a body-color removable hardtop, a white soft top, a 12-volt electrical system, power-assisted brakes, power steering, a power-adjustable bench, power windows, an AM/FM stereo, and an aftermarket air conditioning system, Acquired by the selling dealer in May 2023, this Thunderbird is now offered in Oregon with a car cover, an owner’s manual, and a Washington title.

The car left the factory finished in Raven Black, and refurbishment work is said to include refinishing the car and re-chroming the bumpers and trim. Equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, a replacement white soft top, a “checkered flags” hood emblem, dual side mirrors, a fixed antenna, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumperettes. Blemishes in the paint are shown in the gallery below.

The 15″ wire wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. Stopping power is supplied by power-assisted drum brakes at each corner.

The cabin features a power-adjustable bench seat upholstered in black and white vinyl, and engine-turned trim accents the color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Power windows, a floor-mounted shifter, and a locking glovebox are equipped. Modifications include the addition of hazard flashers, a quartz clock conversion, a Custom Autosound cassette stereo, and an aftermarket air conditioning system with vents mounted beneath the dash. A removable center armrest with cupholders is included and pictured in the gallery below.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames an Astra Dial instrument cluster housing a sweeping 150-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer does not work and currently shows 41k miles.

The P-code 292ci Y-block V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 198 horsepower when new. The selling dealer notes that the engine was overhauled during the refurbishment, and modifications include a 12-volt electrical system conversion, an aftermarket cooling fan, a paper air filter assembly, and a PerTronix ignition module.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Fordomatic three-speed automatic transmission, which was refreshed under prior ownership, per the selling dealer.
