This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 is a Cameo pickup that was refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2019. The truck is finished in gold over white vinyl upholstery and is powered by a replacement 283ci V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes 15″ Ultra wheels, BFGoodrich whitewall tires, a replacement bed, a wood bed floor, a wraparound windshield and rear window, chrome trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Work under current ownership is said to have included adjusting the carburetor and replacing clutch and braking components as well as the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and spark plugs. This Cameo is offered with partial service records and a Washington State title in the seller’s name.
Cameo pickups were equipped with molded fiberglass outer bedsides and outer tailgate skins. This example was refinished in gold with green Cameo trim and the bed was replaced under previous ownership. Details include a wood bed floor, a roof-mounted sun visor, chrome trim, a wraparound windshield and rear window, and dual exhaust outlets. Paint repair is said to have been performed to the left-front fender under current ownership.
Ultra 15″ alloy wheels and BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires were reportedly installed in 2019. The kingpins were replaced in December 2017 and front disc brakes and steel brake lines were installed in 2019.
The bench seat is upholstered in white vinyl and is accompanied by body-color metal surfaces. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, and an aftermarket compass is mounted below the dashboard.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges with green indicator needles. The mechanical odometer shows 1,700 miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The orange-painted 283ci V8 breathes through a two-barrel carburetor and was installed under previous ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and spark plugs were replaced in August 2019 and work in November 2022 is said to have included adjusting the carburetor, replacing clutch components, and performing an oil change.
