This Chevrolet Task Force Pickup (1955-1959) got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1956 Chevrolet 3200 pickup was refurbished under previous ownership in Alabama and was acquired by the seller in 2021, after which it was listed on BaT in July 2022. The truck is finished in yellow over brown vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 283ci V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, a tilt steering column, and an AM/FM radio. Work carried out during current ownership reportedly involved fluid flushes, an overhaul of the power steering pump, and replacement of the generator, voltage regulator, clutch, exhaust system, and brake components. This 3200 pickup is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The 3200 Series featured a 7.5′ long bed, and this example is said to have been repainted in its current shade of yellow under previous ownership. Exterior features include white-finished B-pillars, bright window trim, dual exhaust outlets, a wrap-around rear window, a hood ornament, a sun visor, an oak wood bed floor, and chrome bumpers, mirrors, and headlight surrounds. A chip in the paint and imperfections on the bumper are visible in the gallery below. The photos in the listing and the gallery were taken in 2022.
Yellow-finished 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and 6.70-series Firestone bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare is mounted to the bed. The truck is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Service carried out under current ownership is said to have included a brake fluid flush, an overhaul of the power steering pump, and replacement of the brake master cylinder, front pads, and rotors.
The bench seat is upholstered in brown vinyl, and the door panels and dashboard are painted in yellow and white. The fuel tank is located behind the seat and was replaced under current ownership per the seller. Amenities include vent windows, a heater and defroster, a Hurst shifter, a locking glovebox, and a retro-look AM/FM radio with Pioneer speakers mounted in the kick panels.
A three-spoke billet steering wheel on a tilt column is wrapped in two-tone brown leather and fronts a 100-mph speedometer with inset supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the fuel gauge is inoperative.
The Chevrolet V8 was installed under previous ownership and is said to displace 283 cubic inches. The seller notes that the coolant was flushed, the oil was changed, and the generator and voltage regulator were replaced under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle. The transmission fluid was flushed and the exhaust system and clutch were replaced under current ownership according to the seller.
The truck is titled under the partial VIN stamping V3B56, shown above, while the stamping on the chassis indicates 56K014241. Photos of the redacted Arizona title and the chassis stamping are provided in the gallery.
