This 1956 Chrysler New Yorker Newport is a four-door hardtop finished in turquoise and cloud white over a matching interior and powered by a 354ci Hemi V8 mated with a two-speed automatic transmission that features a push-button gear selector. Features include chrome bumpers and trim, dual exhaust, 15″ chrome wire wheels, Coker Classic whitewall tires, power steering, power brakes, articulating rear quarter windows, and a push-button AM radio. The car is said to be one of 3,599 examples produced for the model year and was acquired by the owner in 2019. This New Yorker is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title.

The car is finished in turquoise and cloud white and features chrome bumpers and trim, a hood ornament, bright badges, front vent windows, vertical taillamps, and a dual exhaust that exits below the rear bumper. There is pitting in the trim, and the paint is thin in areas. The seller notes that the hood and trunk have been repainted during previous ownership.

The 15″ Chrome wire wheels wear simulated spinner center caps and beauty rings and are mounted with 235/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners.

The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in white leather with patterned teal inserts joined by matching door panels, and a white dashboard. Features include a heater with a defroster, articulating rear quarter windows, polished door sills, rear passenger grab handles, crank windows, front lap belts, and a push-button AM radio. The door panel upholstery is stained, the carpeting is discolored, and the seat covers are cracked and worn.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a multifunction gauge with readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 41k miles, approximately 300 of which have been added by the owner.

The 354ci Hemi V8 features Firepower script valve covers and was factory-rated at 280 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a two-speed automatic transmission, which is controlled by a push-button gear selector positioned to the left of the steering wheel. Corrosion is visible on exhaust and suspension components.
