This GMC Suburban (1955-1959) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1956 GMC Carryall Suburban is finished in Seminole Brown and Dover White over a color-keyed interior, and it is powered by a 270ci inline-six backed by a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The previous owner had the vehicle for about ten years, and the selling dealer acquired the truck in 2019. The seller has since fitted new tires and replaced engine gaskets, shock absorbers, front-seat upholstery, and more as detailed below. This GMC is now offered at no reserve with a set of January 1956–issue Oregon blue plates, service manuals, a dealer brochure, and a clean Oregon title.

The two-door body is finished in Seminole Brown with Dover White paintwork above the beltline. The seller reports that the truck appears to have been refinished in stages over multiple years. Scrapes are noted on the roof along with a selection of dents from a previously fitted roof rack. Bubbles aft of the rear wheels and elsewhere on the lower bodywork are pictured in the gallery below.

A 33-minute walkaround and drive video is viewable above. A trailer hitch and wiring receptacle are visible under the rear bumper, and waviness is described down the sides of the bodywork. Factory steel wheels are fitted with hubcaps and trim rings, and the seller mounted a set of new 7.00-15 STA Super Traxion all-terrain tires.

Seat upholstery is color-keyed to the exterior, with cross-pattern printed vinyl on the seat faces. The seller re-covered the front seats with factory materials from SMS Auto Fabrics to match the factory rear benches. The truck retains factory instrumentation and shows just over 48k miles. The selling dealer has added approximately 100 miles, although true mileage is unknown.

The rear compartment is accessible via a hinged front passenger seat, and the factory white vinyl has yellowed when compared with the recently reupholstered front seats. Black rubberized floor coverings are present throughout the cabin, and the cargo area is accessible via a split-folding tailgate.

The 270ci inline-six is backed by a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer detailed the engine and reportedly replaced the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, oil pan, side cover, and rocker-cover gaskets. The seller also changed the oil and filter, replaced the spark plugs, and performed a tuneup.

No Reserve: 1956 GMC Carryall Suburban

The seller also replaced the shocks, flushed the brake system, and changed the transmission oil and the rear-end gear oil. A patch is noted on the fuel tank, and photos are provided showing the suspension, frame, floors, and driveline.

No Reserve: 1956 GMC Carryall Suburban

Service manuals, a dealer brochure, and a book on contemporary GMC trucks are included.
