1957 Buick Super Riviera

This 1957 Buick Super is a four-door Riviera hardtop sedan that was produced at GM’s Flint, Michigan facility and was acquired by the current owner out of Wisconsin in 2012. Power is provided by a 364ci V8 backed by a two-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. The car is finished in two-tone red and white over a corresponding two-tone interior, and equipment includes a Sonomatic radio, power brakes, power steering, and dual exhausts. This Series 50 Super is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with Buick service books and product manuals, service records from current and prior ownership, spare exterior trim, and a clean New Mexico title in the owner’s name.

The current red finish is accented with a white roof and features chrome bumpers and trim that includes four Ventiports on each front fender and side Sweepspears. Additional exterior features include a 1957 Buick Super logo within the front grille as well as “Super” badging on the doors and trunk lid. The seller notes rust on the rear bumper and exhaust outlets, and further imperfections include faded paint, a crack in the passenger-side vent window, and a dent in the driver-side rear door.

15″ steel wheels are color-matched to the body and wear Buick-branded covers and American Classic whitewall tires. Each wheel is pictured up close in the gallery below, and a matching spare is retained in the trunk.

The interior features a two-tone scheme on the front and rear bench seats, door panels, and rear side panels along with a color-coordinated headliner and carpeting. Cracking is present on the driver’s armrest, and additional photos in the gallery below display the condition of the materials and finishes.

The padded dashboard is fronted by a three-spoke steering wheel and houses a 120-mph horizontal speedometer, a period Sonomatic radio, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows just over 31k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 364ci V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 300 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent through a Dynaflow two-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes the presence of fluid leaks.
