This Nash Metropolitan got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1957 Nash Metropolitan is a Series III hardtop that has been refinished in two-tone black and white over black vinyl and is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Continental-style spare tire, side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and hub caps. The car was reportedly placed into storage in California in 2011 and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. This Metropolitan is now offered at no reserve in Arizona with a clean California title.
The car was refinished in two-tone black and white during previous ownership and features a Series II hood, chrome mirrors and bumpers, and a rear-mounted spare. Close-up photos of the paint and brightwork can be viewed in the gallery.
Black-painted 13″ steel wheels wear chrome Metropolitan-branded hubcaps and whitewall tires. Braking is from drums at all four corners.
The interior features seating reupholstered in black vinyl with contrasting diamond-patterned stitching, along with a body-color dashboard, and matching carpeting. Blemishes are shown up-close in the photo gallery.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer with an inset fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 1.5-liter BMC B-Series inline-four was factory rated at 52 horsepower and 77 lb-ft of torque.
