This 1958 Volkswagen Beetle is said to have been delivered new to Hart-Collins Volkswagen Inc. in Flint, Michigan, and was used as a showroom display at Warsaw VW in Indiana before being acquired by the seller in February 1997. Finished in black over red upholstery, the car is powered by an air-cooled 1,192cc flat-four paired with a split-case four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, lap belts, headlight visors, ice pick-style door handles, and Hella “snowflake” taillight lenses. Work performed in April 2023 involved fluid changes, overhauling the brake system, and replacing the axle boots, fuel tap, fuel tank screen, headlight bulbs, and battery. This Beetle is now offered at no reserve in Virginia by the seller with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black and features chrome bumpers with overriders as well as headlight visors, fender-mounted turn signals, ice pick-style door handles, Hella “snowflake” taillight lenses, VW-branded mud flaps, Exterior blemishes include paint chips, dents, and scratches as well as dry-cracked rubber on the running boards, windows, and headlights.

Black and white 15″ steel wheels wear VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with dry-cracked 145-series Michelin XZX tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. Work performed in April 2023 involved replacing the brake light switch, shoes, hoses, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders.

The low-back bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in red upholstery with white piping accompanied by color-coordinated door panels. Interior elements include a mohair headliner, lap belts, a fuel reserve flap, a heater, tinted sunvisors, and a radio block-off plate.

An ivory-finished two-spoke “bat wing” steering wheel wears a Wolfsburg-crest horn button and frames an 80-mph VDO speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles.

The air-cooled 1,192cc flat-four features a single Solex carburetor topped with an oil bath air cleaner. An oil change was performed and the battery was replaced in April 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a split-case four-speed manual transaxle. The axle boots, fuel tap, and fuel tank screen were replaced in April 2023. Corrosion is visible on the underside.

Manufacturer’s literature and partial service records are included in the sale.
