This 1961 Rambler Classic Super Cross Country wagon is finished in blue and white over a blue interior and is powered by a 195.6ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a roof rack, a roll-down rear window, body-color steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, and Weather Eye climate control. The car was acquired in May 2022 by the selling dealer and work performed in preparation for the sale reportedly consisted of replacing the water pump and battery. This Rambler Cross Country is offered at no reserve in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin with an owner’s manual and a clean Wyoming title.
Finished from the factory in Sonata Blue (27) and Frost White (72), the car was repainted its current shade of blue and white some time ago. Features include a roof rack, dual side mirrors, a roll-down rear window, chrome bumpers with overriders, and rear quarter panel fins. Photos in the gallery below show paint chips and dents on the lower front and rear fascias.
Blue-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are wrapped in 205/75 Coker Classic wide-whitewall tires. Braking is handled by four wheel drums.
The cabin features a split front bench with a passenger side headrest and folding rear bench upholstered in blue. The car is equipped with Weather Eye climate control and an AM radio, though the selling dealer couldn’t get reception. Cracks in the driver’s side floor cover and an area of wear on the rear bench are shown in the gallery below.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer flanked by fuel level and coolant temperature gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
The 195.6ci inline-six has been painted to match the body and is fed via a single-barrel carburetor. The water pump and battery are said to have been replaced in the fall of 2022.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.
