1961 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe

This 1961 Cadillac Series 62 coupe was purchased by the seller in 2021 and subsequently underwent interior and mechanical refurbishments which included replacing the seat upholstery and carpeting as well as installing an aftermarket sound system and a replacement 390ci V8. The body is finished in white, and equipment includes a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, a custom exhaust system, power steering, power-assisted brakes, 15″ steel wheels with chrome-ribbed covers, a power-adjustable front seat, seat belts, air conditioning, and a Pioneer digital media receiver. A transmission service was performed in preparation for the sale. This Series 62 is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was finished from the factory in Aleutian Gray (16) and Platinum (14) and was previously refinished in white. Exterior details include quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, rear-wheel spats, and tail fins with integrated taillights as well as chrome bumpers, window surrounds, and trim. The headlight bulbs and trim rings were replaced by the seller, and paint and chrome blemishes are shown in the gallery below.

The 15″ steel wheels feature chrome-ribbed covers with Cadillac-crested hubs and are mounted with 225/75 Nexen thin-whitewall tires. Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums.

The cabin houses bench seating that was reupholstered in black in 2021 along with a color-coordinated upper dashboard and carpeting. Amenities include a power-adjustable front seat, seat belts, power windows, air conditioning, and an aftermarket sound system featuring a Pioneer stereo, Memphis speakers, and a trunk-mounted subwoofer.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 390ci V8 was installed in November 2023 and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. A custom exhaust system has been fitted utilizing a Flowmaster muffler, and it terminates before the rear axle. A transmission service was performed in preparation for the sale.
