1961 Chevrolet Apache K20 Pickup 4×4

This 1961 Chevrolet Apache K20 4×4 is finished in green and white over gray vinyl and powered by a 235ci inline-six paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include wooden bed slats and bed sides, quad headlights, white steel wheels, a cabin heater, and a Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo. The truck was acquired by the seller in 2012 and subsequently underwent an exterior refurbishment, and service that has consisted of a differential fluid service, refurbishing the radiator, and replacing the fuel tank, carburetor, and wheel bearings. This K20 is offered with a Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The truck was repainted in 2016 in Chevrolet Seafoam Green and white. Features include a red and white oak slat bed on an angle-iron bed frame, a white front grille and bumper, chrome mirrors and door handles, and mud flaps. The bed was fabricated under prior ownership, reportedly using locally-sourced oak boards and stainless steel screws. Rust on the cab is said to have been repaired during the refurbishment. The side mirror is broken, the weather seals are cracked and separating, and other imperfections are shown in the gallery.

White 16.5” powder-coated steel wheels are mounted with Trail King A/S tires that show sidewall cracking. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the front axle is equipped with manually locking front hubs. The seller reports that the wheel bearings were replaced in 2016 and the brake lines have been replaced with braided steel lines.

The cab features a bench seat upholstered in gray and black vinyl along with brown carpet. Amenities include a locking glovebox, a Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo, manual windows and door locks, a dash-mounted ashtray, and venting front wing windows. The radio delete plate is included in the sale. The fuel tank behind the seat was replaced in 2016, and a lever cap is missing.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer, gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, and warning lights for oil pressure and generator output. The gauges were reportedly refurbished in 2016. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller. An “Exceeds” odometer brand is noted on the title. Total mileage is unknown.

The 235ci inline-six features a single carburetor that was replaced in 2012. The fuel tank is said to have been replaced in 2016, and the radiator was re-cored in 2020.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The differential fluids were reportedly changed in 2019. Corrosion is noted on underbody components.

The body tag displays chassis number 1K254B104927, which does not match VIN 1K254B104921 listed on the title. A redacted image of the title is displayed in the gallery.
