This Ford Galaxie got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner convertible was built in Oakville, Ontario as a Canadian-market example and is powered by a 352ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a replacement white convertible top, power steering, and a push-button AM radio. The car is said to have been refinished in red prior to the seller’s acquisition out of Washington state in October 2016, and additional work completed under previous ownership reportedly included refurbishment of the exterior brightwork and the red and white vinyl upholstery as well as rebuilding the engine and transmission. The carburetor and alternator have been rebuilt under current ownership. This Sunliner is now offered with recent service records, a white boot cover, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Monte Carlo Red (1RR), the car is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Further refurbishment work reportedly included installing a replacement white convertible top and rechroming the front and rear bumpers, door handles, side mirror, emblems, and body trim. Additional exterior features include tail fins, dual exhaust outlets, and a white convertible-top boot cover.

Five-spoke American Racing 17″ alloy wheels are mounted with 255/50 Federal Super Steel 595 tires showing 2008 date codes. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.

The bench seats are trimmed in red and white vinyl upholstery with black piping, complemented by color-coordinated door and side panels and a red dashboard. A push-button AM radio is housed in the factory location. Pitting is visible on the interior brightwork, and the vinyl atop the front seat has holes and other perforations that are said to have been caused by a cat.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 120-mph horizontal-sweep speedometer. There are chips in the paint on the steering wheel, and the seller notes that the analog clock and the inset coolant-temperature gauge are inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 1,400 of which were added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown. A trio of aftermarket gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure is mounted beneath the dashboard.

The replacement 352ci V8 features a two-barrel carburetor and is mated to a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission are said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership. The seller states that the alternator and the carburetor were rebuilt under current ownership, and the power-steering hoses were replaced in October 2022.
