This Sunbeam Alpine got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1961 Sunbeam Alpine is a Series I model that is powered by a 1,725cc inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission sourced from a Series V Alpine. The current owner acquired the car out of California in 2017, and work has since included a repaint in blue, a reupholstered blue interior, and replacement of the radiator, water pump, exhaust system, ignition components, and more. Additional equipment consists of a body-colored removable hardtop, an alternator conversion, knock-off wire wheels, and wide whitewall tires. This Series I Alpine is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with an uninstalled soft top and a clean Missouri title.

The car was refinished in its current shade of Lake Blue following rust repair and body work carried out during current ownership. The door handles, trunk hinges, badging, rubber weatherstripping, and rear glass of the body-colored hardtop were reportedly replaced at this time, and the bumpers are said to have been re-chromed. Scratches are noted on the glass, and an uninstalled soft top is included in the sale.

Replacement wire wheels with three-eared knock-off spinners are mounted with older Firestone wide whitewall tires.

The seats and door panels have been reupholstered in blue vinyl and replacement carpets line the floors. Appointments includes a wood shift knob and an ashtray. The seller notes the parking brake brake is inoperable.

A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rom tachometer, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, though true mileage is unknown.

The 1,725cc inline-four and four-speed manual transmission were reportedly sourced from a later Series V Alpine and installed under prior ownership. An alternator has been fitted in place of the factory generator, and work performed over the last four years included installing an aluminum radiator and replacing the water pump, thermostat, oil pan, spark plugs, ignition wires, and distributor.
