This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette was sold new at Daniels Motors in Colorado Springs and is said to have been commissioned to compete in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1962 by Bill Daniels. The vehicle was reportedly owned by the Daniels’ family and was placed in long-term storage in the 1970s until being acquired by the seller in 2019 and relocated to Florida. The car is finished in Fawn Beige over beige vinyl and powered by a numbers-matching fuel-injected 327ci V8 paired with a Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission. Features include a body-colored hardtop, US Royal nylon bias-ply tires, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, a positraction rear axle, a dual exhaust system, lap belts, and a push-button AM radio as well as a heater and defroster. Work since 2019 has consisted of rebuilding the fuel injection system, distributor, generator, and replacement of exhaust manifolds, exhaust system, spark plugs wires, spark plugs, fuel tank, fuel sender, and fuel lines. This C1 is offered at no reserve in Florida with original purchase documents, newspaper clippings, a window sticker copy, a hardtop wrench, and a clean Montana title in the seller’s LLC.
