1963 Plymouth Sport Fury 2-Door Hardtop Super Stock Max Wedge

This 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury is a two-door hardtop that is powered by a replacement 426ci Max Wedge V8 linked with a push-button 727 three-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.23:1 Sure-Grip rear axle. It was delivered new to Domenich Basso Plymouth of Los Angeles, California, and it was refurbished in the early 2000s. Work consisted of stripping and repainting the body, retrimming the interior, rewiring the car, and installing a replacement engine and transmission. The car is finished in black over black and copper upholstery, and equipment includes body-color 14″ steel wheels, front and rear bumper guards, a heater, a push-button AM radio, exhaust cutouts, and a cross-ram intake manifold topped with two four-barrel carburetors. This Sport Fury Super Stock was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021 and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a Chrysler Registry report, a copy of its build and broadcast sheets, magazines, wheel covers, and a clean Colorado title.

Finished from the factory in Ebony Black (BB1), the car was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment, which involved work performed at Mopars by Mosher and also at C&L Restoration in the Los Angeles area. Details include a hood ornament, bright body-side and rocker-panel trim, a fender-mounted antenna, a left-side mirror, Sport Fury badging, quad headlights, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with vertical rubber guards.
