LS3-Powered 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 5-Speed

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 paired with a close-ratio Tremec five-speed manual transmission and is finished in silver over silver leather upholstery. The car was acquired by the seller in May 2016, and subsequent work in January 2021 included repainting the body, powder coating the frame, retrimming the interior, and installing 15″ turbine-style wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Van Steel suspension components, a Newport Engineering windshield wiper assembly, air conditioning, and an alarm system with keyless entry. Additional equipment consists of power steering, side exhaust outlets, concealed headlights, power windows, Classic Instruments gauges, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This C2 is offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body was removed from the frame and repainted using PPG Silver paint with a black stinger hood stripe as part of the refurbishment. Features include concealed headlights, side mirrors, a rear fuel fill, fender vents, “fuel injection” badging, side exhaust outlets, and chrome trim on the split bumpers, exhaust covering, door hardware, and window trim. Ron Francis wiring is said to be installed as well as Detroit Speed electric headlight door actuators, Delta H-4 lights, and Newport Engineering windshield wiper assembly.

The 15″ turbine-style wheels were reportedly sourced from Corvette America and wear 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes were installed as part of the refurbishment along with Van Steel front and rear suspension components and power steering.

The retrimmed interior features front bucket seating upholstered in silver leather accompanied by matching door panels, a black dashboard, and black carpets. Interior equipment includes Vintage Air air conditioning, power windows, a lockable glovebox, an analog clock, lap belts, and an AM/FM radio. An alarm system with keyless entry is reportedly installed.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts silver-faced Classic Instruments gauges including a 140-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 650 miles, all of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine was installed using an American Powertrain conversion kit. Cooling is handled by an aluminum Be Cool radiator, and additional features include a Quick Time bell housing, a hydraulically actuated clutch, and a chrome air conditioning compressor.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a close-ratio Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. The exhaust is controlled by an electric switch that routes gasses out of the side exits or through the rear mufflers. The frame was powder coated as part of the refurbishment.
