1964 International Harvester C900

Sold for $9,000 on 8/14/17

This 1964 International Harvester was acquired by the seller 12 years ago in South Dakota, where it reportedly underwent a rebuild of the 152ci four-cylinder engine. The truck was repainted in a custom color and matching upholstery was installed some time before the previous owner’s purchase in New Mexico. A recent tune-up was performed, and the truck is equipped with a 3-speed manual transmission. Wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and front wheel bearings were replaced during the seller’s 12 years of ownership, and the engine was recently serviced with a tune-up. This C-series is now being offered for sale with its original wheels, tires, and hubcaps, a tonneau bed cover, bra, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

The salmon-colored finish was applied sometime before the previous ownership. It is said to present well with some minor paint touch-ups and blemished areas on the roof detailed in the gallery. The original color is thought to be red as evidenced by chipped paint. Some bubbling is noted on the passenger rear fender and a quarter-sized rust spot was previously repaired on the passenger front fender. Evidence of a prior repair is also evident on the driver’s front fender.

Aftermarket wheels are wrapped in Firehawk Indy 500 rubber. Factory wheels, hubcaps, and older tires accompany the vehicle.

The seller painted the inside of the shorter pickup bed and re-chromed the bumpers. A tonneau cover for the bed and front bra is included in the sale.

The bench seat, door panels, and headliner were upholstered to match the exterior shade. Black carpeting replaces the factory rubber floor mats. The seller installed new door and window seals and added Dyna-mat sound deadening.

A new wiring harness was fitted in the dash, and gauges are said to function properly. 97k miles are shown on the odometer, with 5k miles added by the seller. The factory AM radio was removed and the four-spoke steering wheel shows its age with a number of cracks in the plastic.

The 152ci four-cylinder engine is paired to a 3-speed manual transmission and is said to remain stock. When new, it was good for 93 hp, and the seller reports that the truck will reach 60 mph but it performs more comfortably around 45-50 mph. A newer clutch slave cylinder was added, and a recent tune-up included new points, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, condenser, radiator hose, carburetor kit, and wiper blades.

Wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and front wheel bearings were replaced during the seller’s 12 years of ownership. In addition, lug studs were converted to right hand thread and undercoating was applied to the chassis as seen in additional undercarriage photos in the gallery below.
