This Lincoln Continental (1961-1969) got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1964 Lincoln Continental sedan was acquired by the seller approximately 23 years ago from the reported original owner, and subsequent work included replacing the carburetor, condenser, spark plugs, wires, and points as well as sealing the fuel tank. The car is finished in black over red leather and powered by a 430ci V8 mated with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes steel wheels with full covers, Coker whitewall tires, a power-adjustable front bench seat, Cartier electric clock, coach rear doors, a day/night interior mirror, power windows, woodgrain interior trim, and a push-button radio. This Continental sedan is offered at no reserve with a spare carburetor, black California license plates, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and features coach rear doors, quad headlights, chrome bumpers, reverse lamps, polished trim, a driver-side mirror, a Lincoln hood ornament, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper. The right rear door was reportedly damaged and repaired during previous ownership. Paint imperfections are shown in the gallery.
The 15″ steel wheels wear Lincoln-branded full covers and are mounted with older Coker Classic whitewall tires. A full-size spare and jack are mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners. The seller notes that the tires and struts should be replaced.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in red leather joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a power-adjustable front seat, Cartier electric clock, heater and defroster, front lap belts, power door locks and windows, and a push-button radio. The air conditioning and driver-side wing window switch do not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an ammeter, and gauges monitoring coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 50k miles, approximately 20k of which have been added by the seller.
The front-hinged hood opens up to reveal a 430ci V8 which breathes through an Edelbrock 800-cfm carburetor. Factory-rated output was 320 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The carburetor, condenser, spark plugs, wires, and points were reportedly replaced, and the fuel tank is said to have been removed and sealed in 2004. An engine tune-up, oil change, and radiator flush were performed in March 2022. The oil pan gasket is leaking, and the removed carburetor is included in the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
The car’s serial number reveals that it is a 1964 Continental sedan built in Wixom, Michigan with a 430ci V8 under the hood. Further decoding the body plate provides the following production information:
- Body 53A – Lincoln four-door sedan
- Color A – Black Satin exterior finish
- Trim 85 – Red leather upholstery
- Date 05L – November 5th assembly
- Axle 1 – 2.89:1 open rear end
- Trans 4 – Dual-range automatic transmission
