This Mercury Comet got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1964 Mercury Comet two-door sedan is a modified example that was reportedly used as a display vehicle at a dealership prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2022. Subsequent work included rebuilding and re-jetting the carburetor, repairing the throttle cable, and servicing the charging and ignition systems. The car is finished in white with blue accents and period-style graphics over blue vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a bored and stroked 393ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a remote-controlled transmission brake. Additional equipment includes fiberglass bodywork, an aftermarket tachometer, a roll bar, a racing harness for the driver, a dual exhaust system, 15″ steel wheels, and front disc brakes. This Comet is now offered by the selling dealer in Florida with Florida reassignment paperwork and Alabama registration.
