This Porsche 356 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1964 Porsche 356C coupe was completed on June 15, 1964, and purchased new by a military serviceman stationed in Weisbaden, Germany. The car was subsequently brought to the US, where it was modified in outlaw-style in 2021 with work involving a repaint in green, a refresh of the interior, and rebuilds of the 1.6-liter flat-four and four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes twin Zenith carburetors, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Koni shocks, Fibersteel front bucket seats, a custom dash panel, and a roll bar. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022 and offered on BaT in March 2023. This modified 356C is now offered in New York State with refurbishment records, a copy of the Kardex, and a clean California title.

The front bumper as well as the hood trim were removed, an aluminum decklid with louvres and a mesh grille was installed, and the car was repainted in the current shade of green as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior details include a faired-in driver-side mirror, a body-color rear bumper, headlight guards, rear quarter-panel louvres, Porsche GT badging, and a single central exhaust outlet. The windshield and rear window seals were also replaced at the time of the paintwork.

Braking is handled by yellow-finished calipers over discs at all four corners. The ZF steering box was rebuilt in January 2021, and the car features Koni shocks.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Porsche-branded horn button fronts a custom Speedster-style body-color dash housing a tachometer with a 5,200-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the selling dealer. The gauges were rebuilt in November 2020 by Palo Alto Speedometer in California, and total mileage is unknown.
