This 1965 Ford Mustang convertible was assembled in San Jose, California on September 16, 1964, and is said to have been sold new through a San Jose Ford dealership. The car reportedly underwent a multi-year refurbishment that concluded in 1990, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2011. Power is provided by a 289ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the body is finished in turquoise over parchment upholstery. Equipment includes a white convertible top and matching top boot, white rocker panel stripes, 14″ styled steel wheels, front disc brakes, air conditioning, a center console, Rally-Pac instruments, and a JVC AM/FM cassette stereo. This Mustang convertible is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with refurbishment photographs and a clean Nevada title.

The car left the factory body finished in Tropical Turquoise (O) and was refinished during the aforementioned refurbishment. Features include a white convertible top and top boot, white rocker panel stripes, chrome bumpers and trim, and dual exhaust outlets as well as “High Performance 289” and “GT” badging on the front fenders. Styled steel 14″ wheels wear pony center caps and are mounted with 205/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in parchment vinyl with Luxury-style embossed running horse inserts. Black floor mats and carpets cover the floors and woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center console. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, a JVC AM/FM cassette stereo, wind-up windows, and white front seat lap belts.

The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames a central 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil temperature, amperage, and coolant temperature. The car is also equipped with a factory-optional Rally-Pac tachometer and clock mounted on the steering column. The mechanical five-digit odometer shows 3,100 miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and a polished air cleaner cover and valve covers. A tune-up is said to have been performed in preparation for the sale.
