This Ford Thunderbird (1964-1966) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1965 Ford Thunderbird has been with the seller for 22 years and is powered by a 390ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Driven nearly 6k miles over the course of the seller’s ownership, the car has received extensive maintenance in that time that included new heads in 2014, a new 4-barrel carburetor, intake manifold, radiator, brake lines, convertible top, new seat covers, and an updated stereo system. Described by the seller as a good driver, this T-Bird is sold with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Frost Turquoise, the car was repainted red prior to the seller’s purchase in 1995. The seller performed a repaint in 2011 in the current red color and was accompanied by some rust repair performed to the lower portion of the body. The 1965 model-year Thunderbirds would be the first to incorporate dual-piston disc brakes at the front wheels, resulting in larger 15″  steel wheels which this example wears with wheel covers and a matching set of Kumho white wall tires.

Paired with a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, the Z-code 390ci V8 was refreshed in 2014 with new heads, and additional updates performed by the seller over the course of his ownership including new intake manifold, 4-barrel carburetor, radiator, steering pump, dual-master cylinder brake system, and brake lines.
