1965 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop Coupe

This 1965 Ford Thunderbird hardtop is finished in Patrician Green over Turquoise upholstery and reportedly spent time in Italy before it was brought back to the US in 1997 and acquired by the current owner in August 2010. The car is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power steering and brakes, rear fender skirts, chrome trim, quad headlights, and a hood scoop as well as air conditioning, a center console, power windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. This Thunderbird is now offered on dealer consignment with a replacement air filter, Italian export documentation, and a California title.

The body left the factory finished in Patrician Green (U) and features chrome trim on the bumpers, fender trim, window surrounds, and grille. Additional equipment includes a driver-side mirror, a hood scoop, quadruple headlights, fender skirts, and a dual exhaust system. Images showing paint imperfections along with rust and paint bubbling behind the left-front wheel and in front of the left-rear wheel.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels feature faux knock-off spinners and are wrapped in 215/75 Goodyear Decathlon white-line tires. Equipment includes power steering along with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Turquoise vinyl (27) and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, headliner, door panels, and carpets. Bright trim accents the interior, and additional features include air conditioning, a center console, power windows, an analog clock, rubber floor mats up front, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo wired to speakers on the rear seats. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges monitoring oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 700 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 390ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor along with a gold-painted air cleaner assembly and valve covers. The seller notes the oil and oil filter were changed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.00:1 standard differential. There is evidence of corrosion on the underside components.

The vehicle warranty number reveals that the car is a 1965 Thunderbird hardtop built in Wixom, Michigan, and equipped with a 390ci V8 and four-barrel carburetor. Further decoding the door tag reveals the following information:
