1966 Buick Skylark Convertible

This 1966 Buick Skylark convertible was acquired by the seller in 2017 and subsequently fitted with a replacement 350ci V8 that was reportedly rebuilt and features aluminum cylinder heads, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Hedman headers, and a Holley carburetor. A three-speed TH350 StreetFighter automatic transmission and a Ford rear end were also installed, along with Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, tubular control arms, a dual exhaust system, and a JL Audio sound system. The car is finished in white over a red interior and is equipped with a black soft top, 17″ Ridler alloy wheels, power steering, a tachometer, AutoGage auxiliary gauges, and power windows. This Skylark convertible is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Arctic White (C), the body was repainted under prior ownership and a replacement black soft top was installed. The hood was refinished and the power top motor was reportedly replaced under current ownership.

Ridler 17″ five-spoke alloy wheels wear 235/55 Kelly Charger GT tires. Wilwood disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors were installed at each corner under current ownership, and the seller states the brake proportioning valve and booster were also replaced. Tubular front control arms and QA1 rear trailing arms were also installed, and additional work reportedly included replacing the power steering box, tie rods, shocks, springs, brake lines, and rear sway bar.

The interior features front and rear bench seats trimmed in two-tone red vinyl. Appointments include power windows, lap belts, rubber floor mats, and a fold-down center armrest up front. A JL Audio sound system was installed under current ownership and features component speakers in the kick panels, three subwoofers, and a Bluetooth receiver along with two amplifiers in the carpeted trunk.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a column-mounted tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel level gauge. A trio of AutoGage instruments mounted beneath the dash display oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 350ci V8 was installed under current ownership and is equipped with a Holley 650-cfm four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and Hedman headers. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. According to the seller, the engine was rebuilt prior to the install and utilizes a reconditioned block, a Howards roller camshaft, and aluminum cylinder heads, along with the following components:

Flat top pistons with coated skirts
Roller rockers
Double chain timing system
Replacement oil pump
High torque starter
Gilmer serpentine drive pulleys
Aluminum intake manifold, air cleaner, and valve covers

Coolant and oil leaks were repaired in June 2023.

A replacement three-speed TH350 automatic transmission and a Ford rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing were installed under current ownership, along with a dual exhaust system.
